From history graduate in Toulouse to Trust & Safety and financial crime investigator in Dublin — 17+ years across eBay, Squarespace, Airbnb, TikTok, Amazon, and Whatnot.
I'm Nicolas, a French national based in Ireland, with a career built around one question: how do you keep people and platforms safe online?
My academic path began with a B.A. in History, specialising in Archive Management and the Preservation of Historical Heritage from the University of Toulouse II Jean Jaurès, followed by an academic year in Boston (2005–2006) focused on English proficiency, business, media, and geopolitics.
I then moved to Ireland, where I've spent the past 17+ years in Trust & Safety, risk, and security roles at some of the world's best-known technology companies:
eBay — Fraud Investigator and KYC/AML Specialist in Trust & Safety, investigating marketplace fraud, account takeover, and seller verification abuse during the PayPal-integrated era.
LinkedIn — Customer Success Manager (contract), Global Operations.
Squarespace — Technical Support Specialist, then Team Coordinator, contributing to the growth of the Dublin office from around 10 to over 200 employees and to the early development of the platform's Trust & Safety policies.
Airbnb — Global Crisis Manager, investigating high-severity personal safety incidents and coordinating with law enforcement across jurisdictions, then Team Coordinator/Supervisor leading a team of 10 Trust & Safety agents.
TikTok — Crisis & Incident Manager directing global responses to major geopolitical events, then Regional Program Manager for France & Belgium, owning market-level Trust & Safety risk on a DSA-designated Very Large Online Platform.
Amazon — KYC/AML Investigation Analyst within Amazon's second line of defence, conducting end-to-end financial crime investigations across multiple payments licences.
Whatnot — Content Integrity Specialist (current), investigating high-sensitivity content integrity cases on a fast-growing live commerce platform.
After leading regional Trust & Safety programmes at TikTok, I deliberately moved back into hands-on investigative work — first in financial crime at Amazon, now in content integrity at Whatnot — to stay close to the casework where I do my best work.
My passion for security led me to a Higher Diploma in Cyber & Digital Security (NFQ Level 8) from IBAT College Dublin, completed with an A+ and Jury Distinction.
In 2024 I earned the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) credential from ISC2 alongside the IBM & ISC2 Cybersecurity Specialist Professional Certificate, and I've since completed a sustained upskilling arc across cybersecurity, AI security, and digital forensics — including the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate (2026), Cyber Security: Essentials for Forensics (Macquarie University, 2026), Generative AI Cybersecurity & Privacy for Leaders (Vanderbilt, 2025), and the AI Agent Developer Specialization (Vanderbilt, 2025).
I'm currently open to opportunities in fraud and financial crime investigation, Trust & Safety, AI risk, and crisis and resilience roles.
